Гаснет пламя ёлки, тихо в зале.
В тёмной детской спит герой умаясь.
А с карниза красными глазами
Неподвижно смотрит снежный заяц.
Снег летит с небес сплошной стеною,
Фонари гуляют в белых шапках.
В поле, с керосиновой луною,
Паровоз бежит на красных лапках.
Горы-волны ходят в океане.
С островов гудят сирены грозно.
И большой корабль затёртый льдами
Накренясь лежит под флагом звёздным.
Там в каюте граммофон играет.
И друзья танцуют в полумраке.
Путаясь в ногах собаки лают.
К кораблю летит скелет во фраке.
У него в руке луна и роза,
А в другой письмо где жёлтый локон,
Сквозь узоры звёздного мороза
Ангелы за ним следят из окон.
Никому войдя мешать не станет.
Вежливо рукой танцоров тронет,
А когда ночное солнце встанет
Лёд растает и корабль утонет.
Только звёздный флаг на белой льдине
В южном море с палубы узнают.
И фуражки офицеры снимут.
Краткий выстрел в море отпылает.
Страшный заяц с красными глазами
За двойным стеклом, замысловатым,
Хитро смотрит: гаснет ёлка в зале.
Мёртвый лысый мальчик спит в кровати.

The flame of the Christmas tree is extinguished, quietly in the hall.
In the dark nursery, the hero sleeps in the face.
And with a cornice with red eyes
The snow bunny stares motionless.
Snow flies from the sky like a solid wall
Lanterns walk in white hats.
In the field, with the kerosene moon,
Locomotive runs on the red legs.
Mountains-waves go in the ocean.
From the islands sirens are buzzing menacingly.
And a big ship rubbed off with ice
Tilting lies under the starry flag.
There's a gramophone playing in the cabin.
And friends are dancing in the twilight.
Confused at the feet of the dog bark.
A skeleton in a tailcoat flies to the ship.
He has a moon and a rose in his hand,
And in another letter where the yellow curl
Through star-frost patterns
Angels are watching him from the windows.
He will not interfere with anyone entering.
Politely hand dancers will touch
And when the night sun rises
The ice will melt and the ship will sink.
Only the star flag on the white ice floe
In the south sea from the deck will find out.
And the officers take off their caps.
A short shot in the sea will set off.
Scary hare with red eyes
Behind the double glass, intricate,
Slyly looks: the Christmas tree is extinguished in the hall.
