Heaven on Earth
Long ago,
there was a great kingdom
named Vijayanagar.
King Krishnadevaraya,
ruled this Kingdom.
He was a very good king.
He wanted his people to be happy.

Once long ago,
in a little village that lay in the midst of high hills
and far-flung fields
there lived a poor old farmer with his two lazy sons.
The poor farmer owned a little piece of land in front of his house,
and he worked hard all day in it.
Meanwhile,
his sons were lazily dreaming about luxuries and gold.

For many days
Tenali Raman did not attend the Royal Court.
King Krishnadevaraya was worried about him.
He was missing a close friend,
and advisor,
whose help he always needed.
Then the king thought,
that maybe Tenali Raman was ill.

Vyasa was the great sage
who gave the vedas to the world.
Once, the beginning of a poem occurred to Vyasa,
as he sat in meditation.
He decided to write this great epic for the benefit of this world.
So He prayed with great devotion to the four headed God Brahma.
He prayed all day and all night to seek his blessings.
