- A Life That mattered
"A life that mattered"
I want to know what's in her head but she won't open up for me
Still I push another boat out hoping someday that won't be
I drop a message in a bottle and wait to see if gets washed ashore
But I know it's just another letter that will be pushed back through my door
like salt into an open wound sometimes the pains too much to bear.
- A Mothers Love
“A Mothers Love”
Thank you bearing with me all these troublesome years.
Thank you for sharing my triumphs and dowsing all my fears.
Thank you for being beside me when everything falls apart.
Thank you for the tenderness of your compassionate heart.
Thank you for all your wisdom and your worldly advice.
Thank you for being the greatest inspiration of my life.
- Beach of Pebbles
"Beach of Pebbles"
The moments that she spent with me I felt her soul tormented.
Every second she took a breath to heal her heart, it never mended.
I don't know why she wants to travel on a road that's just descending.
There's no love at the end of her rainbow just someone's unhappy ending.
Take your youth and spend it wisely and take heed of what I'm saying.
- Bird in a Cage
“Bird in a Cage”
Looking through the window, watching as the world seems to pass her by.
Like a bird in a cage, I can feel the silent rage, reflected in her eye.
Staring into the distance, behind the smile, I see the truth written on her face.
What lies he told, what dreams he sold, have now sunk without a trace.
She draws the courage, summons a smile but deep inside she feels so strange.
Like a cat in a bag, waiting to drown, she can only hope that her life will change.
- Broken Promises
“Broken Promises"
She promised me the earth the stars the sun and the moon.
But you cannot believe this piper when she plays her tune.
She said she wanted to be my friend, my wife and my lover.
But she's such a liar, she gave me nothing, she is just like all the others.
- Decisions
"Decisions”
The decisions that you make each day are what shape your destiny.
Believe it or let ignorance convince you that it wasn't meant to be.
Say what you mean, mean what you say that is how it has to be.
Close your eyes and remain in the dark or open your heart and see.
I will not succumb to foolish games, please don't waste my time.
- Eye of the Beholder
“Eye of the Beholder”
Striking a pose, looking at the camera, a long legged redhead, with irrepressible grace.
Born with one eye blue and the other eye green, soft pouting lips and a beautiful face.
A giddy combination of youthful vigor, a sensual hairline trigger, such inextricable charm.
She knows what she wants, knows how to get it, a ticking time bomb, you cannot disarm.
The wholly incorrigible tigress, young and free, with a fiery temper, like her red flowing hair.
A thoroughly modern girl, in styles and tastes, dressing with audacity and indubitable flair.
- Infatuation
“Infatuation”
Eyes are windows to the soul, the openings to all our sorrow.
What we desire, is sometimes here today and gone tomorrow.
Sitting alone on a park bench wondering where it all went wrong.
She thought that a picture would give her the words to a love song.
The object of desire, was it love or just some adolescent infatuation?.
An imaginary fantasy, a figment of her overactive and fertile imagination.
- Loves Torture Stake
“Loves Torture Stake”
The first buds of spring, before summer begins, she saw him, felt her heart melt.
To this very day, she would never be able to say in words, just how she felt.
For him she was the Goddess Persephone, his eyes worshipped and adored.
But their love ended up, shattered to pieces, like the blade of a Samurai's sword.
In the preceding years, she had no doubts or fears, it was unbridled passion, love.
Truly she thought, a match made in heaven, conceived by the God's above.
- Mothers Voice
“Mother's Voice”
Sitting in the cinema as the lights went down, it was the start of the opening scene.
She was twelve years old, when the projector rolled and images flashed on the screen.
The movie was a fantasy about the second world war and even though she was cold.
She sat licking ice cream, her eyes glued to the screen, watching the drama unfold,
When the heroine died, it was a defining moment and one that left a lasting impression.
She knew at that point there was no going back, acting would be her chosen profession.
- Naked Heart
“Naked Heart”
Before she was old enough to hold a pen in her hand, she knew she wanted to write.
Always making up short stories, learning her alphabet, before going to bed at night.
As a child she remembers picking up books and would pretend that she was reading.
Her imagination writing lines on pages, knowing exactly where her future was leading.
At the age of twelve, rejection from a literary journal, gave her the first taste of defeat.
Depression stopped her writing for years, they duly pulled the rug from under her feet.
- Needle in a Haystack
“Needle in a Haystack”
Looking for a needle in a bale full of hay.
Looking for a brave girl that won't run away.
Looking for an angel that ain't forgotten how to fly.
Looking for a sweet soul that money can't buy.
Looking for a woman that people won't judge.
Looking for a lover that don't hold a grudge.
- Phone Call from Heaven
“Phone Call from Heaven”
I wish that I could wake up tomorrow and he would be standing over me.
I wish that he could have been there this year beside our christmas tree.
I wish that when I go to bed, close my eyes, he would tuck me in at night
I wish that I could hear his bedtime stories before he turned out the light.
I wish that I could hear his laugh and see the wrinkles when he smiled.
I wish that he could see me in my wedding dress and walk me down the aisle.
- Silver Thread

The waves are crashing all around.
the sky feels black and cold.
I am drowning in my feelings.
like a tidal wave is taking hold.
tearing my heart and soul apart.
stretching my every emotion taut.
- Slave to Love
“Slave to Love"
You've been trapped in your shell for such a long time, dreaming and waiting.
For a man to find you, steal your heart, you spent your whole life contemplating.
You had so much experience, your life was complete, you had beauty, intellect, passion and wit.
But when I looked in your heart, the light had gone out, it was if a fire had never been lit.
We talked and talked, the brightness grew until there was a shadow upon my mind.
- The Departed
“The Departed”
No fond farewell, no kiss goodbye.
His parting gift, her tear filled eyes.
A woman's love, her sacred vessel.
A recoiling spring, the stinging nettle.
The cruelest words, his hollow smile.
The broken plates, her stomach bile.
- The Doorway to my Heart
“The Doorway to my Heart”
There is a sacred corner of my heart, where no woman has ever been.
A part of me I have kept preserved, that no woman has ever seen.
If you are worthy, I promise that I will guide you to that place.
And let you see a beauty, that transcends all time and space.
I will leave petals by the roadside and candles to light the way.
But you have to promise me, when you arrive that's where you'll stay.
- The Flock
“The Flock”
A flock of lambs aimlessly wandering.
Carelessly passing their time in the cities away.

Laughing and pointing they press on their keypads
Digital dreams to the new generation,it isn't Monet.
- The Gateway
“The Gateway"
Run Through the mists of a time long ago to a castle on top of a hill.
The search you had started is reaching its end you're no longer a servant of will.
Open the door through the castle walls cast your eyes on the beauty within.
All can be yours if you hold out your hand she said.
The white lady that stands before you sheds clear tears to soften your stare.
- The Proposal
“The Proposal”
You know all there is to know about me, I have opened up my life.

I know we can accomplish anything if we only stick together.
We can ride any storm, pass through any kind of weather.
You know I will take good care of you, no matter what it takes.
I have experienced everything in this life, you know I will not break.
I have told you everything i've been through these last few years.
- The Road to Nowhere
“The Road To Nowhere”
I wake up every morning, drink a coffee and rub the sleep out of my eyes.
I light another cigarette, I told myself I was going to quit, but today again I lied.
I take the same bus, open the same doors, sit at the same chair everyday,
I know that this small town isn't big enough to make me want to stay.
I sit in the same office, look out of the same windows, look at my watch,
My life is a constant replay, a repetitive sequence, of tick tock, tick tock.
- The Roller Coaster
“The Roller Coaster”
It started with a simple picture, she sent me a photograph of her.
Sent it to my iphone, before that she was just another stranger.
I never knew before I met her where our relationship would go.
But I paddled in the clear blue waters until a mighty river flowed.
Before I knew, it turned into a rip tide, a crazy roller coaster ride.
Must have messaged her a million times, been burning up my phone time.
- The Waiting Game
“The Waiting Game”
Twelve summer solstices watching and waiting never saying a single word.
The tranquil waters of her fountain of love, ran so still, that he never heard.
Heart yearning, her desires burning, but her mouth woefully empty and dry.
Embarrassed, in case she was cruelly rejected, it was far safer never to try.
Ship wrecked on an island, shackled in silence, she built an eternal shrine.
Suffering interminably, watching him dating, all the others girls waiting in line.
- Walking on Water
“Walking on Water”
When love runs cold, it's hard on the soul, when family's get torn apart,
Her father's self pity and a bottle of whiskey turned his daughters heart.
Rebellion begins, when recalcitrant minds are told what to do and say.
Belligerent voices, left her no clear choices, she had to run away.
Believing in herself, never asking for help, she fought hard to stay alive.
Out on her own, nose to the grindstone, somehow managing to survive.
- When Love Conquers All
"Love Conquers All"
When Love conquers all, hearts that are broken will once again be complete.
To the woman who society forbids me mention, I will kneel and kiss your feet.
Grace in such desperate circumstances has paved our streets with gold.
Our hearts are eternally grateful for the love and humility you showed.
Such dignified and unselfish acts should serve as reminders to us all.
That nothing can stop the wheels of destiny, if your courage can answer its call.
