Binary politics, packaged sound bite rhetoric;

Watered down party lines, beholden to corporate ties;

An angered lick of flame,

Stalwart in its unwillingness to fade

Poetic in its grace,
A lilac wreathed in pain,

In its ever-resilient fate!

Pain is pain.

We designate our higher rank, then subjugate those of a "lesser" state.
We construct the definitions to reinforce our dominant positions
and now that we've established us and them, we feel a peace of mind.
Similarities? Coincidence, dismissed; all doubts are set aside.

But don't look in the mirror

Poison free, now living life so pure.
Tell me, have all your addictions been cured?
