Слившись с гор, вниз рекою текла

Смерть веками к ним с Севера шла!

Сколь юнцов, ближней жизни усладу
Не познав, пало в битвах тогда;
Сколько их после боя на бурках
Приносили в аулы всегда!
Сколько слёз матерей проливалось
Сколько раз пустыри за аулом
Зарастали могилами вновь!

«Свобода или смерть!» был слышен клич в горах.
«Свобода или смерть!» дай помощь нам Аллах!
«Свобода или смерть!» их боевой девиз,
А ты не понял, «царь», что это не каприз!

Враг, аулы нещадно сжигая,
Выживал их с насиженных мест;
И посевы полей выжигая,
Обрекал на голодную смерть.
Хоть народ вымирал в тех сраженьях,
Выжил всё ж, непокорный врагу.
С чем сравнить ваши подвиги, предки!?
Я пример им найти не могу!

Хаос битв нам ведь как отчий дом!

Ниц мы лишь пред Аллахом падём!
